Lists are brilliant for wedding planning. Whether you are a natural list user or not it’s time to get used to using them. There is nothing better or more satisfying than crossing tasks off your list when you have completed them. A good tip is not to have one big list but to have smaller lists. These might be weekly or monthly to-do lists and will be much more manageable than one huge checklist. If you’d rather do things digitally, check out the Trello app. This is a really easy to use app that you can use as a digital list and will be with you wherever you have a phone.
When doing your to-do lists, are you being realistic. Don’t forget that other aspects of your life need attention to such as children, family, work and friends. Not being realistic when planning your lists will mean that you put a lot of pressure on yourself which will ultimately lead to you getting stressed and that’s the last you need before your wedding day. Discuss your list with your partner, family member or a close friend and see if they think it’s realistic and review it with them every couple of weeks.
Don’t forget to delegate
When you are planning a wedding you will undoubtedly have a lot of people offering their help. So take it! Not only does it take some of the pressure off you, it also adds to their overall wedding experience. People love to help and it will make your wedding day that bit more special for everyone who has had a hand in organising it.
Take some days off
It’s very easy when organising a wedding to be doing something wedding related every day. As much as you may think this is the most efficient way to do things, it can actually end up with things starting to overwhelm you and this can cast a dark shadow over your big day. What you should do is give yourself a couple of days break every now and again to let you recharge your batteries. It can also help you see things from a different perspective when you get back into organising, your wedding will end up all the better for it.

If your wedding venue offers you a wedding planner then use them! They’re not there to organise just any wedding, they’re there to help you organise the wedding of your dreams.
